What is the true nature of how we exist? What is the nature of time? Is there an objective reality distinct from us?
USING REASON TO SEE THINGS AS THEY ARE
Join Guy Newland, author of Introduction to Emptiness, as he walks us through these and other mysteries of life with reliable points for our analysis, contemplation, understanding, and ultimately, direct experience and other wisdom teachings to investigate our own views on reality. Guy’s teaching will also provide insight into Aryadeva’s 400 Stanzas on the Middle Way as taught recently by Geshe Yeshe Thabkhe at Jewel Heart.
Guy Newland is Professor of Religion and Chair of the Department of Philosophy and Religion at Central Michigan University, where he has taught since 1988. He has authored, edited, and translated several books on Tibetan Buddhism, including the three-volume translation of The Great Treatise on the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment and Introduction to Emptiness. He lives in Mount Pleasant, MI.
