The Morality Chapter of Asanga’s Bodhisattvabhumi
What is the essence of morality? In short, it is treating others with respect. Acting with kindness. Speaking up when necessary. Dispelling sorrow. Relieving suffering. Providing protection. Giving encouragement. Showing gratitude. Recognizing one’s mistakes. Benefiting others with a calm mind, a warm heart and a firm regard for all.
Geshe Yeshe Thabkhe returns to Jewel Heart May 2 – 4 for a teaching from Asanga’s Bodhisattvabhumi, The Bodhisattva Path to Unsurpassed Enlightenment, Chapter 10: Morality. Gala Rinpoche will also give a teaching during the weekend.
Arya Asanga’s Bodhisattvabhumi is the Mahayana tradition’s most comprehensive manual on the practice and training of bodhisattvas. According to Asanga, it is a compilation of the full range of instructions contained in the entire collection of Mahayana sutras. It’s considered a primary source of guidance on bodhisattva ethics, vows, and practices, as well as a summary of the ultimate goal of the bodhisattva path: supreme enlightenment.
Gala Rinpoche will teach on The Power of Devotion on Saturday at 7:00pm ET
Registering for this event also includes registration for the Gala Rinpoche public talk.
