The bodhisattva vow ceremony is a festive ritual where participants bring flowers to decorate the throne, altar and room, and recite the ritual text as a group, centered on taking the bodhisattva vows. Demo Rinpoche will share teachings, lead the ritual, and bestow the vows.
Taking the bodhisattva vows is done to safeguard and support bodhimind, the wish to become enlightened for the sake of helping others. The vows set guidelines to avoid harming others as well as for helping others. For those taking the vows for the first time, they are a great opportunity to support one’s compassionate motivation. For those who have taken the vows before, it is an occasion to reaffirm and refresh them.
All are welcome.
Rinpoche will hold the Wednesday morning program outdoors at the center. Online retreat registrants will participate via their summer retreat zoom link.
