Sam Lieberman has been practicing yoga since 1988. She received teacher trainings in Yoga Fit and Yoga Medics. Yoga Medics is a medical model approach with emphasis on alignment and therapeutic needs.

Taking us on a journey through the catastrophic disappearance of bees and the mysterious world of the beehive, this engaging and ultimately uplifting film weaves an unusual and dramatic story of the heartfelt struggles of beekeepers, scientists and philosophers from around the world
July 14: BLESSINGS: THE TSOKNYI NANGCHEN NUNS OF TIBET (2009) – In Tibet, the word for woman translates as “lower rebirth.” In a remote eastern region of the country, the Tsoknyi Nangchen nuns defy this definition. Devoted to the ancient practices of Tibetan Buddhism – once primarily a male domain – over 3,000 nuns have attained elevated status.
August 11: TRAVELERS AND MAGICIANS (2005) – A universal tale of a young man with big dreams and no real plan to achieve them, linking how we live our lives and how we imagine our lives should be. Filmed entirely in Bhutan, directed by Khyentse Norbu

Instructions – Time of play is usually 1-3 hours, depending on number in group and how many holes we play. Typically, 18 holes but you can also play 9 or however many you like.
Wear good hiking shoes with a good gripping sole as ground may be muddy. Discs will be available to use for the day. If you have your own discs (or plan to purchase a starter set), please bring your own. You might also want to bring a small bag or backpack to carry your discs.

Join Karen Markey for Blissful Birders’ inaugural field trip.
Instructions – Bring binoculars, dress in layers, and wear sensible shoes. Nichols Arboretum (The Arb) can be muddy, cold and breezy this time of year. Please, no strollers or dogs.

Karen Markey is a long-time field trip leader for Washtenaw Audubon Society, a route leader for Kirtland’s Warblers Survey for the U.S. Forest Service, and founder of the Highlands Nature Sanctuary Breeding Birds Survey for the Arc of Appalachia.

Toilet paper, toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss, chapstick, bar soap, washrags & hand towels, travel size Kleenex, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, body lotion, hand shavers, men’s shaving cream, women’s tampons & panty liners, Q-tips, shower caddies.

Local sangha are hosting a food drive for Food Gatherers to fight against hunger right here where we live. When onsite, please see the poster on the Sangha Council bulletin board for needed items or the donation bin in the hallway next to the kitchen.
