Concentration Meditation – Help yourself through meditation. Facilitators provide basic guidance with multiple concentration meditation sessions using the breath as the point of focus. Open to all levels of experience.

White Tara Guided Healing Meditation – Tara is the mother goddess of Tibetan Buddhism, known for her quick and compassionate activity. She is particularly associated with healing and long life. Join us for a guided meditation using visualization techniques to overcome physical, mental and emotional suffering. Sunday morning Concentrated and White Tara meditation sessions will meet in the Joyful Paradise Room. Signs will be posted.

Tai Chi – Learn the ancient art of meditation in motion with this ‘soft style’ martial art emphasizing relaxation and balance. Suggested donation $5

DAY OF SILENT MEDITATION
Saturday, June 16, 8:30am – 6:00pm

Concentrated silent meditation is an essential tool that helps develop peace and joy as well as the power to deeply understand wisdom. ​This daylong opportunity, offered according to the Tibetan Buddhist tradition and Gelek Rimpoche’s GOM teachings, will include practice sessions of both sitting and walking meditations with light guidance.
Silence will be maintained between the sessions.
​Instructors will be available for you to privately discuss your practice during the longer breaks.

Cost: Donation only. Those unable to donate are also welcome to attend.

Please bring your own brown bag lunch, dinner and snacks. Plenty of room in the fridge, and a stove/oven, microwaves and toasters are available. Tea and coffee provided. Chairs and cushions provided.

May 25 – Big Lebowski – (1998)
“The Dude” Lebowski, mistaken for millionaire Lebowski, seeks restitution for his ruined rug and enlists his bowling buddies to help. The Coen brothers’ masterpiece marks 20 years since it first hit the theaters. Roshi Bernie Glassman wrote a book about it called “The Zen of the Dude”.

June 29 – Heal – (2017)
A documentary film that takes us on a scientific journey where we discover that by changing one’s perceptions, our thoughts, beliefs and emotion, the human body can heal itself from dis-ease. The fact is we have more control over our health and life then we have been taught to believe.

July 27 – Knowledge of Healing (1997)
Illuminating documentary on Tibetan medicine that developed over 2 millennia as an amazingly successful method of healing. In the 12th century, Gyüshi (Knowledge of Healing) was created, the Dalai Lama shares the value of Tibetan medicine, and his personal physician Dr. Tenzin Choedrak describes its principles.

August 24 – Perfect Sense – (2011)
A chef and a scientist fall in love as witnesses to the end of the world– strangers who form a desperate romantic connection while facing an apocalyptic epidemic that robs people of their sensory perceptions.
