Sam Lieberman has been practicing yoga since 1988. She received teacher trainings in Yoga Fit and Yoga Medics. Yoga Medics is a medical model approach with emphasis on alignment and therapeutic needs.

July 12 – Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) This is a comical and poignant look at breakups, breakdowns, and breakthroughs.
August 9 – Tibet: A Buddhist Trilogy (2006) This 3-part feature, hailed as a cinematic masterpiece, recombined into a single feature, looking at the Tibetan people as they live now.

SANGHA GAME NIGHT – Friday, June 7, 6:30 – 9:30pm, Late arrivals welcome
LOCATION: Jewel Heart Cafe, 1129 Oak Valley Drive, Ann Arbor 48108
Everyone is invited to bring a favorite game or two, otherwise take their chances with what others bring. A few games anticipated are –
Uno and variants, Codenames, Splendor, Pictionary, Monikers

In general, it is anticipated someone will join a group of 3-6 people and agree to a game for 30-60 minutes. One person will take the lead explaining the game and facilitating game play. Then a NEW game is selected by someone else for variety as people move in or out as desired.
People sharing their favorite games and learning new games is encouraged. Snacks will be provided.

New and experienced players welcome!

DATES: April 27, May 11, June 22 (10am-12pm due to weather), July 20, August 24
LOCATION: Mary Beth Doyle Park, 3500 Birch Hollow Drive, Ann Arbor 48108. Meet in parking lot adjacent to swing set.
Instructions – Time of play is usually 1-3 hours, depending on number in group and how many holes we play. Typically 18 holes but you can also play 9 or however many you like.
Wear good hiking shoes with a good gripping sole as ground may be muddy. Discs will be available to use for the day. If you have your own discs (or plan to purchase a starter set), please bring your own. You might also want to bring a small bag or backpack to carry your discs.

LOVING KINDNESS CRAFTERS
Third Sunday Monthly, 1:00pm, Onsite
DATES: Currently on Break. Resumes in September and moves to the Fourth Sunday Monthly – September 22, October 27, December 22. No session in November. Crafters will gather to create Tie Blankets using Polarfleece to be delivered to U of M’s End of Life Support.

LOVING KINDNESS CRAFTERS –  Monthly Sundays, 1:00 pm ET, Onsite, FREE

Interested in knitting, sewing, quilting, baking or other crafts? No knowledge necessary. Beginners and experts and all in between are welcome.

DATES: January 21, February 18, March 17 Note: Sessions will resume in September.

We will be knitting/crocheting chemo caps for St. Joseph and University of Michigan cancer patients. Materials available or bring your own. Instructions available.

Nourish your mind and body with this sweet chakra-based yoga series.  We explore the mind-body connection by incorporating pranayama (breath awareness) and seed syllables with gentle poses. Onsite.

BLISSFUL BIRDERS – To be announced

Colorful warblers, vireos, tanagers, orioles, and flycatchers are exiting Michigan on migration farther south during early September. We’ll visit Matthaei Botanical Gardens, one of the best Ann Arbor birding hotspots for fall migrants.

Instructions: Bring binoculars, dress appropriately, and wear sensible shoes because trails can be wet with morning dew. Please, no strollers or dogs.

Guide: Karen Markey is a long-time field trip leader for Washtenaw Audubon Society, route leader for the Kirtland’s Warbler Survey for the U.S. Forest Service, and founder of the Highlands Nature Sanctuary Breeding Birds Survey for the Arc of Appalachia.

Local sangha are hosting a food drive for Food Gatherers to fight against hunger right here where we live. When onsite, please see the poster on the Sangha Council bulletin board for needed items or the donation box in the cafe. We plan to donate around the holiday timeframe so don’t wait too long to donate!
