Nowadays respecting equality and unity is more important than to respect higher castes. Racism is directly harmful and still prevalent in all societies. We all need each other and almost all professions contribute to common welfare. Therefore we should respect everybody. Equanimity to those who are distant is also important, as we all rely on each other, not only those close to us.
